AH-Garden-logoThe Alexandra Headland Community Garden was opened in July, 2015 by gardening guru Costa Georgiadis.  The garden took three years of planning and fund raising by the Alexandra Headland Community Association and its garden sub-committee, and finally there is a beautiful area in Nelson Park, just off Katoa St in Alexandra Headland.

Whilst 47% of Alexandra Headland residents live in apartments or units, this community garden is for everyone who wants to share their gardening skills in a communal setting.  They might like to bring seeds from home to share. The group works collectively to grow and then share the produce – we do not rent out individual beds.

The community connection of sharing and friendship are just as important as being a gardener and thus all gardeners and novices are welcome to come and grow and learn and enjoy.   The above ground beds make gardening particularly easy for everyone from children to the elderly.

The community group has one informal meeting at 10 am on the last Saturday of each month in the garden. Working bees are held as needed. Come and join us; you will be warmly welcomed by our very friendly group.

We are grateful to our sponsors.
