Petition to De-main Alexandra Parade, Alexandra Headland

Many people are asking "Why".......

Our Committee has considered the most recent streetscaping proposals from Sunshine Coast Council to improve the centre of our village.  Many previous plans have been thwarted by the Department of Main Roads who own the road, and very little has been achieved - we believe Council has the best chance of creating a pedestrian friendly heart for Alex.   The conflict between traffic and people is not easily solved - there are many difficult traffic engineering questions - but the main message we keep hearing is that "Alex is a destination - not a freeway".    Please sign the petition and send a message to the Dept of Main Roads that we care about Alex and want something done to re-vitalize the heart of our beachside village.  see more
